10 Tips on Medical Management

Returning an injured employee to work can be a challenging task.  A worker cannot be fixed like a broken car and returned running strong on all cylinders. This is impractical and unrealistic.

The longer an employee is off work, the more time required for re-entry and the greater the chance the employee will never return to work.  Establishing a comprehensive injury management program will provide a smoother and less costly return of employees to their fullest potential.

Erogoworks Consulting, LLC facilitates immediate communication between an offsite clinic and the employer rehab team.  We partner with qualified Physical Therapy Centers to provide accurate FCE and Work Hardening Rehabilitation.  The employee begins his Work Conditioning in the clinic, concentrating on general conditioning and rehab of the specific medical injury.  The employee then progresses to the employer site to perform work hardening with real job activities.

An individualized training program is performed at the actual jobsite, utilizing the worker and the workplace job requirements.  It allows for rehab of the entire person as well as the specific injury.  The worker conditions as an employee not as a patient.  The physical ability is progressed until he is able to reach the necessary job requirements.  This permits earlier return to work with minimal risk of reinjury.  At first the job activities are performed at minimal weight, repetition and demand.  As the worker improves, the sessions are lengthened.  This allows for observation and reinforcement of proper body mechanics, lifting technique, and stress free motions required by the job.  It is job specific, not generic.
